Gifts For Encouraging Movement
Play Silks
Play Silks are seriously one of the greatest toys. Initially, when I saw them recommended, I thought they were overrated, but then we got a few and my kids are obsessed! Skip any knockoff play “scarves” you see on Amazon that are made with synthetic fibers and get ones made with real silk, like these by Sarah’s Silks. The quality is unmatched.

Climbing Triangle
We got our climbing triangle when my oldest son turned one. My other children have both enjoyed it before the age of one. It’s one of the best types of climbing equipment for little ones. I like this climbing triangle because it has a high weight limit and can hold multiple children. It also is foldable, for easier storage when not in use.

Rocker
This rocker can be used as a rocker or as a climber.
Balance Beam
A balance beam is great for encouraging movement and practicing coordination and balance. This balance beam is modular and easy to store.
Push Wagon
A favorite gross motor toy once your child is beginning to take steps. My older children like to ride inside it as they push each other around.
Balance Bike
My older kids each got a balance bike for their second birthday.
Trampoline
My kids love using this trampoline. We have used it both inside and outside.
Wooden Ladder Climber
This wooden climber can be hung inside or outside. My kids started showing interest in it around the age of 3yo.

Play Couch
A play couch is amazing for encouraging movement! Create different configurations with the play couch to climb, jump or crawl through.
