Witch’s Cauldron Puffy Paint.

, ,

Have you tried homemade Puffy Paint before? It’s really EASY to make (you only need two ingredients) and is always a HUGE hit with kids! I always get asked if it dries “puffy” and the answer is YES! We hung these on the fridge for months and the puffiness sticks around (although it may start to deflate over longer time periods). I also love that you can easily stick small pieces of paper (or even plastic spiders, like we did for our Witch’s Cauldron) into the puffy paint and it will stay put!

Materials:
Shaving foam
Elmer’s school glue
Optional: colored paper, plastic spiders, eco-friendly glitter

To Make Puffy Paint:
1. Mix approximately equal parts of shaving foam and school glue.
2. (Optional) Add a few drops of food coloring.

To Make the Bubbling Witch’s Cauldron:
1. Cut a cauldron out of black paper.
2. Glue cauldron onto a piece of white cardstock. (I recommend using cardstock or cardboard because the puffy paint is wet when applied).
3. Cut small pieces of colored paper and place onto the puffy paint while it is still wet. The pieces of paper will stay in place once the puffy paint dries!
4. (Optional) Add glitter and/or plastic spiders to puffy paint while it is wet!
5. Lay your artwork flat to dry.
6. Have fun!!
